Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticised Israel for its “doctrine of domination” on Saturday. He said Israel expands militarily while pressuring neighbouring countries to disarm. His remarks came shortly after Iran held nuclear talks with the United States.
Speaking at the Al Jazeera Forum in Qatar, Araghchi said Israel’s project weakens neighbouring nations militarily, technologically, economically, and socially. He added that Israel can grow its military arsenal without limits. Meanwhile, other countries are punished for scientific progress or defensive development.

Araghchi did not directly refer to Friday’s talks with the US in Muscat. He led the Iranian delegation in indirect nuclear discussions with envoy Steve Witkoff. Both sides described the atmosphere as positive and agreed to continue negotiations. US President Donald Trump called the talks “very good.”
The criticism follows a history of tension between Israel and Iran. Last June, Israel launched bombings on Iranian sites, prompting a 12-day conflict. Iran responded with missile and drone strikes, including attacks on the US military base in Qatar. The region remains tense amid nuclear and missile concerns.

Washington has urged Iran to address its ballistic missile programme and support for regional militant groups. Tehran insists negotiations remain limited to nuclear issues. Araghchi said Israel’s approach threatens regional stability. He warned that expansionist policies cannot continue unchecked.
