Pakistan’s security forces killed four terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Thursday. The operations targeted suspected militants linked to ongoing terrorist activities in the province. The development highlights continued counterterrorism efforts amid persistent security challenges in northwestern Pakistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation was carried out in Dera Ismail Khan after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants. Security personnel engaged the suspects during the raid, leading to an intense exchange of fire. Two terrorists were killed during the operation, while forces secured the area and continued search activities.

A second intelligence-based operation was conducted in Mohmand district. ISPR said security forces successfully engaged another militant hideout and neutralised two more terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who were allegedly involved in terrorist activities in the region. No casualties among security personnel were reported in the statement.
The military said sanitisation operations were underway to locate and eliminate any remaining militants in the affected areas. It added that counterterrorism operations would continue under the national security framework of Azm-e-Istehkam. Authorities have repeatedly stressed their commitment to dismantling militant networks and improving security across the country.

The latest operations follow a series of counterterrorism actions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Last month, security forces killed 13 militants during a two-day operation in Darra Adamkhel, including members of a TTP-affiliated group. Pakistan has witnessed a rise in militant violence since 2021, prompting intensified operations against armed groups operating near the Afghan border.
