Mas-Wrestling Federation finalises 2026-2027 roadmap

The Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation (PMWF) convened its General Council Meeting to review recent performance and finalize the strategic roadmap for the years 2026-2027, setting out plans that span grassroots development, national competitions, and international representation.

The meeting was chaired by Nawab Furqan Khan, President of the PMWF, and attended by all Provincial Secretaries, who presented agendas, progress reports, and proposals from their respective regions. The Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation (PMWF) convened its General Council Meeting to review recent performance and finalize the strategic roadmap for the years 2026-2027, setting out plans that span grassroots development, national competitions, and international representation.

The meeting was chaired by Nawab Furqan Khan, President of the PMWF, and attended by all Provincial Secretaries, who presented agendas, progress reports, and proposals from their respective regions. Members unanimously congratulated Nawab Furqan Khan for his leadership and vision in strengthening Mas-Wrestling across Pakistan, while appreciating the successful organization of provincial championships that have played a vital role in talent identification and athlete development.

The Council expressed gratitude to government authorities for including Mas-Wrestling in Inter-School and Inter-College Games and for supporting initiatives such as the Pink Games, recognizing these as milestones for inclusivity and youth engagement. In a significant achievement, the Sindh Mas-Wrestling Association secured affiliation with the Sindh Olympic Association, a move hailed as a breakthrough for the institutional growth of the sport.

A major announcement was made regarding Pakistan’s hosting of the Asian Mas-Wrestling Championship from May 10-15, 2026, which will mark a historic moment for the sport in the country. Preparations are already underway to ensure the event meets international standards and showcases Pakistan’s organizational capacity.

The PMWF reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Mas-Wrestling at all levels, with a clear focus on development, inclusivity, and international representation.
