A historic three-day Girls’ Skiing and Snowboarding Camp was organized at the snow-covered slopes of Malam Jabba for girls belonging to the merged districts (former FATA), marking a significant step toward the promotion of sports and healthy activities in the region. Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Sports and Youth Affairs, Taj Muhammad Tarand addressed the participants as the chief guest at the camp organized under the auspices of the Directorate of Sports, Merged Districts. A total of 34 talented and determined young girls from the merged districts participated in the camp. Speaking on the occasion, Taj Muhammad Tarand said that this initiative is not limited to sports alone but is a practical effort to expand opportunities for women from the merged districts, introduce winter sports and empower girls from conservative areas with confidence and independence. He added that the camp is a proof that if given equal opportunities, Pakistani girls can excel in every field. He appreciated the cooperation of Malam Jabba Ski Resort, Pakistan’s only government-owned ski resort and said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is rich in natural resources and snow-covered mountains, offering immense potential for the promotion of winter sports.
