
Karachi and several districts of Sindh are expected to receive rain and thunderstorms from January 22, as the Meteorological Department forecasts an approaching western weather system entering the province.
According to officials, the system may bring light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning over Karachi, improving weather conditions while also increasing the risk of slippery roads.

In addition, rain is likely across Jamshoro, Dadu, Thatta, Sujawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Naushahro Feroze, and Shaheed Benazirabad districts.
Meanwhile, residents have been advised to remain cautious during thunderstorms, especially in low-lying and vulnerable areas, as authorities continue to monitor the system and promise timely updates.

Elsewhere in the country, cold and dry weather is expected to persist, while fog may affect Punjab and upper Sindh, and light rain or snowfall could occur in northern hilly regions.
