Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has signed a cargo agreement with Garuda Indonesia to improve access for Pakistani exporters. The deal opens new routes to key Asia-Pacific and Australian markets. It aims to strengthen Pakistan’s air cargo network and support trade growth.
The pro-rate agreement, effective January 2026 until July 2027, allows exporters smoother and uninterrupted cargo movement. Pakistani goods will transit through hubs in Jeddah and Kuala Lumpur, providing gateways to cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Bangkok. The agreement also eases access to major Asian markets such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Seoul, increasing export reach across multiple regions.
PIA officials emphasized that the deal will directly benefit exporters and freight agents by lowering shipping costs. Reduced logistics expenses are expected to make Pakistani products more attractive in international markets, particularly for distant and high-demand destinations.
