In a major push to strengthen early-grade learning across Sindh, the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), Government of Sindh, has announced the training of 1,680 more teachers in the Larkana region, following the successful completion of a similar program for 1,300 teachers in Mirpurkhas. The announcement was made by Managing Director SEF, Mr. Gahanwer Ali Laghari, while chairing a review meeting on Post Cluster-Based Training (CBT) Phase II, aimed at improving teaching practices at the early grade level.
During the meeting, the SEF Training Unit headed by Director Dr Munazza Danish along with Deputy Director Musarat Palio and Assistant Director Sajjad Ghalio presented a detailed briefing on the outcomes of CBT Phase II in the Mirpurkhas region, where 1,300 teachers received on-the-job training at their school clusters. The team highlighted that the doorstep-based training model enabled teachers to practically understand modern early-grade teaching techniques, making the learning process more effective and context-specific.
Teachers handwritten feedback and reflections also shared by the training team, appreciating the initiative for enhancing their classroom skills, student engagement methods, and overall understanding of early-grade pedagogy.
MD SEF, Gahanwer Ali Laghari lauded the dedication of the training team, stating that he personally visited multiple CBT venues across different regions in Phase I and II. During his visits, he witnessed both male and female teachers actively participating, enthusiastically sharing their learning experiences, and demonstrating a strong commitment to improving classroom practices.
He said that this is a clear reflection of what the Sindh Government is doing to create real and lasting impact. He acknowledged that staying for 18 days in the remote, deep-desert areas of Tharparkar and conducting intensive training sessions was a major challenge for Karachi-based trainers from the SEF Training Unit.
