Sascha Boumedienne extended the lead to 3-0 early in the second period, before Czechia’s Adam Jiricek and Matej Kubiesa responded with goals, including Kubiesa’s strike with just 24 seconds left. Swedish forward Antol Frodell praised the team’s unity, saying, “It was time for a gold and we did it. We are a big family. We love each other and we did the right things for the team to win.” Czech coach Patrik Augusta acknowledged that his team struggled to match Sweden’s pace, explaining that they were exhausted after their semifinal win over Canada.

Earlier in the tournament, Canada’s Zayne Parekh set a new national record for points by a defenseman, finishing with 13 points from a goal and an assist. Sweden’s victory reflects their consistent development program and strong performance in international junior hockey over recent years.
