Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh Deputy General Secretary and Member National Assembly Sardar Rafiq Ahmed Jamali said that journalists play a vital role in the restoration and strengthening of democracy, as they act as the eyes and voice of the people and raise public issues through the media.
He was addressing the prestigious oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected body of Dadu Press Club for the year 2026-27. On the occasion, Sardar Rafiq Ahmed Jamali announced that a solar system would be provided to Dadu Press Club, and that a Journalists’ Colony would soon be established in Dadu, similar to those in Karachi and Hyderabad.
Speaking at the ceremony, senior journalist Samsafar Gadhi and President of Dadu Press Club, Nizam Sheikh, said that journalists of Dadu have always highlighted injustices, oppression and excesses faced by the public and will continue to present people’s issues before the government.
