Disney has begun narrowing down its cast for the live-action adaptation of Tangled, with several young stars shortlisted for the lead roles. The studio recently conducted screen tests and chemistry reads in London as it moves closer to final casting decisions.

According to multiple sources, actresses Teagan Croft and Sarah Catherine Hook are among those being strongly considered for the role of Rapunzel. Other contenders who reportedly tested include Freya Skye and Olivia-Mai Barrett.
Croft is best known for her role in DC’s Titans, while Hook gained recognition through HBO’s The White Lotus. Freya Skye recently appeared in Disney’s Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, adding to speculation about her candidacy.

For the role of Flynn Rider, also known as Eugene Fitzherbert, actors Milo Manheim and Charlie Gillespie are said to be under consideration. Both performers have demonstrated strong musical abilities, a key requirement for the character.
In the original 2010 animated film, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider were voiced by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, whose performances helped make Tangled a global hit. The live-action adaptation aims to reintroduce the beloved story to a new generation.

Another major role in the film is Mother Gothel, the villain who imprisons Rapunzel to exploit her magical hair. Scarlett Johansson is reportedly being eyed for the part, though no official confirmation has been made.
The project will be directed by Michael Gracey, known for helming The Greatest Showman. His involvement has raised expectations for the musical elements of the film.
