AC removed over child death in sewage pit, confirms Azma

Published on: December 18, 2025 1:47 AM

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari stated that under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s governance model, no influence have any effect, and the Chief Minister never compromises on the quality of development projects. She informed that following the unfortunate incident in Layyah, where a child fell into a pit, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took strict notice, barred the concerned AC Haris Hameed from attending the meeting, and immediately removed him from his post.

Azma Bokhari further stated that ensuring the supply of essential commodities at fixed rates is the Chief Minister’s top priority. The government is taking all possible measures to provide citizens with services of the highest standards and quality.

She also condemned the incident involving Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who forcibly removed a woman’s hijab in the presence of her father, describing it as an extremely shameful and despicable act. The act not only violated the woman’s personal freedom but also infringed upon the fundamental rights of a Muslim woman. Bokhari said that such actions by public officials are an attack on women’s honor and expose the flaws of India’s so-called democracy.

The Minister emphasized that under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, the quality and transparency of all projects-whether educational, agricultural, or infrastructure-are never compromised. Every project is executed to the highest standards to ensure the public receives the best possible services.

Speaking at a press conference at DGPR alongside Special Assistant on Price Control and Commodity Management Salma Butt, Azma Bokhari described the child’s fall into the pit as extremely tragic. She highlighted that under the Chief Minister’s development programs, modern and safe sewage systems are being installed in every area, and any negligence in such matters will not be tolerated.

She added that public service is the Chief Minister’s foremost priority, and all projects are closely monitored to maintain quality. While administration is provided full authority and resources, no lapse or carelessness will be tolerated. These measures reflect the government’s commitment to public safety, quality assurance, and transparency.

Azma Bokhari concluded by stating that under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision, every public welfare project in Punjab is monitored to ensure the highest standards, and all officials are fully accountable.
