RAWALPINDI – The Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said that an individual has become a national security threat by spreading anti-army narratives. He accused the person of publicly attacking the Pakistan Armed Forces and trying to incite the public against them. He warned that anyone targeting the military will face strict action.
In a media briefing, the DG ISPR said the military continues to make daily sacrifices for Pakistan and its people. He stressed that no individual or political agenda should create divisions between the public and the armed forces. He criticized attempts to spread misleading narratives through social media and external support.

Lt. Gen. Chaudhry said the person’s statements often call for stopping overseas remittances or opposing loans, and are amplified by foreign accounts and Indian media. He highlighted that these narratives aim to weaken Pakistan’s institutions and national security. He also stated that Afghan social media is being used by facilitators of extremist elements.
The ISPR chief emphasized that the armed forces do not engage in political agendas and serve all citizens equally. He condemned attempts to connect the military with political disputes and said that extremist facilitation under political cover will not be tolerated. He urged citizens to differentiate between truth and fabricated narratives.

He also referenced the May 9 incident, stating it was a national issue, not a military problem. He clarified that the military will not negotiate with extremist groups and will act on intelligence-based operations against facilitators of terrorism. The DG ISPR reaffirmed the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and criticized foreign and local actors attempting to manipulate public perception through media.
