Published on: December 1, 2025 10:45 PM

England’s cricketer Moeen Ali has decided to leave the Indian Premier League (IPL) and play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). His announcement follows South Africa’s former captain Faf du Plessis, who also recently opted out of the IPL. Officials said Moeen Ali will join the HBL PSL, bringing his experience and world-class talent to the tournament.

Moeen Ali expressed excitement about this new phase, calling it a “fresh start” in his career. He praised the PSL for its high standards and international recognition in T20 cricket. According to him, playing in Pakistan has always been enjoyable due to the quality of cricket and passionate fans.

He highlighted the enthusiasm of Pakistani audiences and said such energy motivates players to deliver their best performances. Moeen Ali also mentioned that he looks forward to creating memorable experiences while participating in the league. Fans and cricket analysts welcomed his decision, expecting thrilling performances in the upcoming PSL season.

The move comes as the PSL continues to attract top international players, strengthening its reputation as a competitive T20 league. Sports authorities believe the participation of globally recognized cricketers will enhance viewership and sponsorship opportunities for the tournament.
