Police officials revealed that Aqsa had reportedly been facing domestic violence for several months at the hands of her husband and his family. On Sunday, authorities received a call reporting that she had been subjected to extreme torture and had fainted.
The woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed that her injuries were life-threatening. Despite medical efforts, Aqsa succumbed to the wounds and was pronounced dead. Her body was later shifted to the city morgue for autopsy.
Her parents accused Aqsa’s husband and other family members of torturing her, claiming that the abuse directly led to her death. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
Authorities said they are collecting statements from witnesses and family members to determine the full circumstances of the alleged torture. Investigators added that legal action will be taken against anyone found responsible for the young woman’s death.
