YouTuber Azlan Shah, famous for his symbolic donkey gift at his wedding, faced backlash after posting a dramatic announcement claiming he was “getting married again.” The post, shared on Instagram, sparked confusion and immediate reactions from followers.
Some viewers assumed it was a joke, while others took it seriously, sending messages of shock and anger. The announcement quickly became a trending topic across social media platforms.

Hours later, Azlan released a video with his wife, Dr Vareesha Javed Khan, clarifying that the post was a prank. He explained that by “marrying again,” he meant renewing their marriage promises for their anniversary, not a real second wedding.
Vareesha criticised the way the prank was presented, calling it poorly executed. Azlan repeatedly apologised on camera, saying he loved her, while she added that a real second marriage was never even a consideration.
Social media users, however, were not impressed. Many called the prank insensitive and unnecessary, arguing that jokes about second marriages reinforce harmful stereotypes. Some accused Azlan of seeking attention rather than considering audience sensitivity.
Despite the couple’s playful content history, this joke clearly missed the mark. Azlan and Vareesha, married in 2022 and parents to a two-year-old daughter, now face public debate over online humour boundaries.
