
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signaled a major shift in Pakistan’s industrial policy after business leaders presented new proposals. He welcomed the recommendations during the first meeting of the Working Group on Industrialisation. He also ordered a detailed review to prepare them for inclusion in the national framework.
The meeting brought together key ministers, advisors and leading industrialists. Participants reviewed policy proposals designed to boost industrial development and attract stronger investment. They also examined regional comparisons to assess Pakistan’s competitiveness. The private sector urged the government to adopt reforms that could support long-term expansion.

PM Shehbaz said economic growth is impossible without strong industrial development. He stressed that job creation and income gains depend on a modern and competitive industrial base. He added that facilitating business and raising investment remain top priorities. He directed officials to study every proposal before finalizing new measures.
The prime minister praised the private sector for supporting government policies during difficult periods. He said their cooperation helped Pakistan avoid a deeper economic crisis. He noted that the country’s economic direction is improving. However, he emphasized that sustained progress will require continued hard work.
