Demi Lovato has revealed that she once felt societal pressure to get married by a certain age before eventually tying the knot with Jordan “Jutes” Lutes earlier this year. The 33-year-old singer shared that although expectations weighed on her during her younger years, her marriage ultimately unfolded naturally and at the right time.
Speaking to Who What Wear, Lovato said she used to believe she “should” be married by a specific age, but life took its own course. She added that her relationship with Jutes has brought her deep happiness, noting she recently told him she has “never been more in love” and that the timing of their union “was perfect.”

Reflecting on her past relationships — including Joe Jonas, Wilmer Valderrama and Max Ehrich — Lovato admitted she believed some of them would last long-term. However, she now recognises that she had personal healing and growth to complete before she could commit fully.
Lovato credited therapy and self-work for helping her become emotionally ready for a healthy relationship. She explained that once she focused on her own well-being, “the universe provided,” allowing her to build a stable life on her own before sharing it with someone else.
