
ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan to participate in the 5th anniversary of Victory Day in Baku, following an invitation from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The celebrations mark Azerbaijan’s historic achievements and are attended by dignitaries from various countries.
During his visit, Prime Minister Sharif will attend official Victory Day events and hold high-level talks with President Aliyev. The discussions are expected to review bilateral relations and explore new avenues for cooperation in sectors including trade, investment, energy, defence, education, and regional connectivity.

Pakistan and Azerbaijan share long-standing fraternal ties, grounded in common faith, history, culture, and mutual trust. The countries maintain close coordination in international and regional forums such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and the United Nations.
The Prime Minister’s visit underscores Pakistan’s unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. It also aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations, furthering collaboration across diverse economic, political, and social spheres.
