
ISLAMABAD – Security forces on Sunday thwarted two separate attempts to smuggle narcotics from Peshawar and Multan to the United Arab Emirates. The Airport Security Force (ASF) conducted successful operations at both airports, recovering drugs hidden in passengers’ belongings.

At Peshawar Airport, ASF officials seized 823 grams of hashish concealed inside a passenger’s shoes. In another operation at Multan Airport, 926 grams of crystal meth, commonly known as ice, were recovered from a passenger’s luggage.
Both suspects were scheduled to travel to Dubai and Sharjah, respectively. ASF officials credited the force’s professional vigilance and advanced screening procedures for preventing the smuggling attempts.

The arrested suspects and seized narcotics were handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further legal action. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to curbing drug trafficking through Pakistani airports, citing enhanced surveillance and inter-agency coordination.
