LONDON: A royal commentator has revealed the real reason Prince Andrew was never close to the Prince and Princess of Wales, pointing to years of jealousy and resentment toward Kate Middleton, Fox News Digital reported.
According to royal expert Hilary Fordwich, tensions between the two royals began when Andrew made disparaging remarks about Kate, sparking anger from Prince William, who is known for being fiercely protective of his wife.

“Prince William was infuriated,” Fordwich said, explaining that he later established a “zero-tolerance policy” toward any scandals or inappropriate behaviour involving his uncle.
Fordwich added that Andrew’s jealousy deepened after losing his long-held position as Queen Elizabeth II’s “golden boy,” and his resentment grew as Kate’s prominence and poise won public admiration.
This revelation follows earlier claims by royal commentator Richard Kay, who wrote in the Daily Mail that Prince William still harbours a grudge against Andrew for being unwelcoming to Kate during her early introduction to the royal family, believing his father, King Charles III, has been “too soft” on him.
