The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered an investigation into the IHC police abduction case involving Punjab Police officials. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to form a special Joint Investigation Team (JIT). The team will probe the alleged kidnapping of a woman and her three daughters from Lahore and Bahawalpur. The court said the video evidence showed a clear act of force, calling it a serious violation of rights.
Justice Kayani said such actions by uniformed officers destroy public trust in law enforcement. He noted that the footage confirmed the woman and her daughters were taken against their will. The judge also said this incident violated the sanctity of home and family. He reminded the police that power comes with responsibility and that misuse of authority will not be tolerated.

The court ordered the FIA to immediately form the JIT and start its inquiry. It also directed the SSP Investigation to record the victim’s statement and submit a detailed report. The judge emphasized that no delay or obstruction would be accepted in this case. The court made it clear that protecting the suspects would amount to contempt.
Justice Kayani called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to personally take notice of the IHC police abduction case. He said, as a woman, she should ensure justice for the victims. He also described the abduction as “inhuman and unlawful,” urging strict action against those responsible.
