
LAHORE, October 23 – Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol met Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan to discuss key economic issues faced by the business community.

During his visit to Islamabad, Saigol highlighted the challenges confronting industries and exporters, emphasizing the need for reforms to restore business confidence and competitiveness. He appreciated the IMF staff-level agreement, noting its potential to stabilize the economy, and urged the government to ensure the proper use of the Export Finance Scheme (EFS) and consult stakeholders in policy matters such as SRO issuance.

Haroon Akhtar Khan assured that the government is committed to financial discipline and consistent engagement with the business community. He announced plans to visit the LCCI to gather feedback and enhance cooperation. Similarly, Jam Kamal Khan reaffirmed the government’s focus on trade expansion, export diversification, and ease of doing business. He said the Ministry of Commerce will continue working with industry leaders to strengthen the economy and attract investment.

Saigol reiterated that inclusive policymaking, developed in consultation with chambers of commerce, is essential for practical and growth-oriented economic outcomes.
