Federal Minister Talal Chaudhry criticized Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, calling him immature and politically motivated. He said Afridi focuses on political point-scoring instead of national duties. Chaudhry claimed Afridi only wants to please former Prime Minister Imran Khan through statements and drama. He accused Afridi of ignoring his responsibility toward the country’s security.
During a press conference in Islamabad, Chaudhry said Afridi rejected bulletproof vehicles given by the federal government. He challenged Afridi to hand these vehicles to security forces if he did not want them. Chaudhry stressed that Pakistan’s soldiers fight terrorism without enough modern equipment. Meanwhile, Afridi’s actions risk weakening the state’s fight against terrorism.

Chaudhry explained that under the Constitution, provinces cannot make independent decisions that affect the whole country. He said the war on terror is a national effort and will continue despite leadership changes. He urged KP’s leadership to change their mindset and support national security plans fully. The National Action Plan, he said, will push the country toward victory.
The minister revealed that the bulletproof vehicles meet international standards and cost about 100 million rupees each. He said KP’s law enforcement lacks proper anti-terrorism departments and necessary equipment. He also noted that federal funds were sent to KP to strengthen security but remain underused. Such delays and refusals, he added, only help terrorist groups grow stronger.

Finally, Chaudhry condemned the misuse of federal resources for politics and accused extremist groups like TLP of corruption. He mentioned investigations into TLP’s financial accounts and questioned their real motives. Chaudhry warned that Pakistan cannot tolerate immature leadership or extremist ideas harming national security. He called for unity and strong action to protect the country.
