RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, for failing to appear before the court in a protest case. The case pertains to the November 26 protest and involves Aleema Khan and 10 other accused.
During Monday’s proceedings, ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah noted that all ten other accused were present in court along with five prosecution witnesses, who also submitted case evidence. However, Aleema Khan remained absent, prompting the judge to issue arrest warrants for both her and her guarantor, Umar Sharif.

The court directed police to arrest Aleema Khan and produce her before the court on October 22. Additionally, the ATC ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi to verify the property documents provided by Aleema Khan’s guarantor.
Prosecutor Zaheer Shah told the court that Aleema Khan was deliberately avoiding court proceedings and hindering the course of justice through her repeated absences.
