Maryam Aurangzeb reaffirms Pakistan’s Kashmir stance

Published on: July 18, 2026 11:31 PM

Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb on Saturday reaffirmed Pakistan’s position on Kashmir, saying it remains closely linked to the country. Speaking at a public gathering in Gujar Khan, she also highlighted the government’s development agenda and public welfare initiatives.

Addressing party supporters, Aurangzeb said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had left a lasting development legacy across Pakistan. She stated that the public elected him as prime minister three times and credited his governments with implementing major infrastructure and development projects.

Referring to Kashmir, Aurangzeb said development projects worth Rs100 billion are currently underway in the region. She added that Pakistan has consistently maintained its position on the Kashmir issue and said decisions regarding Kashmir should reflect the aspirations of its people.

The senior minister said Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have consistently raised the Kashmir issue at national and international forums. She added that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) believes in public service and development-focused politics.

Aurangzeb also urged voters to evaluate political parties based on their governance and performance. She encouraged the public to question elected representatives about the development work carried out in their respective provinces.

Criticising political opponents, she said those who frequently criticise others have failed to deliver significant public welfare projects in the regions they govern. She maintained that the Punjab government is focused on improving public services through practical measures.

The minister said the Punjab government continues to expand healthcare services and accelerate development projects across multiple sectors. She reiterated that the PML-N remains committed to governance through policy implementation rather than political slogans.
