Noreen Niazi’s remarks on Pakistan army spark controversy

Published on: July 18, 2026 7:54 PM

A Noreen Niazi statement has sparked political debate after the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan made controversial remarks about Pakistan’s military and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos during a recent interview. Her comments have drawn criticism from political analysts and observers.

During the interview, Noreen Niazi alleged that the military operation was linked to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming it was carried out for political purposes. She also made claims regarding Israel, US President Donald Trump and the Abraham Accords. These allegations were presented by Niazi without publicly available supporting evidence.

The remarks quickly generated reactions on social media and in political circles. Critics argued that the comments could undermine Pakistan’s national narrative and may be exploited by hostile media outlets. No official response from Pakistan’s military had been issued immediately following the interview.

Several political commentators criticized the Noreen Niazi statement, saying the remarks reflected a highly controversial political narrative. They argued that such statements could intensify political polarization and fuel public debate over national security issues.

Analysts also expressed concern that the allegations could be amplified by Indian media to support narratives critical of Pakistan. However, these assessments represent the views of commentators and have not been independently verified.

Pakistan’s political environment has remained deeply polarized in recent years, with sharp differences between the government and the PTI over issues relating to governance, accountability and national institutions. Statements involving security matters often trigger widespread political and public reactions.

The controversy surrounding the Noreen Niazi statement is expected to continue as political parties and public figures respond to the interview. At the time of publication, neither PTI nor Imran Khan had issued an official statement addressing the remarks.
