UAE backs Bahrain, Kuwait after Iranian attacks

Published on: July 18, 2026 9:31 PM

The United Arab Emirates has condemned Iran’s latest attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, calling them a violation of national sovereignty. The UAE warned that the strikes threaten regional security and stability. The statement comes as military tensions continue to rise across the Middle East.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks represented a “flagrant violation” of the sovereignty of the three countries. The ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. It also pledged support for all measures aimed at protecting their security and stability.

According to official statements, Kuwait reported another Iranian strike on a power and water facility on Saturday. The attack forced the shutdown of several electricity generation units. Meanwhile, Bahrain’s military said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed several Iranian aerial attacks.

Jordan also reported heightened security activity following the latest escalation. According to the state news agency, Jordanian armed forces intercepted and shot down four drones that entered its airspace during the past 24 hours. These developments followed growing military exchanges across the region.

The latest incidents highlight the expanding regional impact of the confrontation between Iran and the United States. Attacks on neighboring countries have increased concerns over regional security, critical infrastructure, and energy supplies. Gulf states remain on high alert as tensions continue to intensify.

Meanwhile, the Iranian army said it targeted US military facilities in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain. Tehran described the strikes as retaliation for recent American military operations. However, Gulf governments continue to strengthen defensive measures against further attacks.

The UAE’s statement reflects growing regional concern over the widening conflict and its potential consequences. Diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions remain uncertain as military exchanges continue. Regional governments are expected to closely monitor the evolving security situation.
