
ISLAMABAD – Central spokesperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), Shazia Marri, said that October 18 is a day to honour the devotees of democracy.
In her message, Marri paid tribute to the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy, saying she salutes their unmatched courage, loyalty, and great sacrifices. She said, “October 18, 2007, is the day of democracy’s devotees.”
She added that, following the instructions of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, prayer gatherings are being organised at all district headquarters across the country to mark the day.

Recalling the tragic events, Shazia Marri said more than three million people had gathered to welcome the late Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on her return to Pakistan, and 180 brave workers sacrificed their lives for democracy and their leader.
Marri said those behind the attack aimed to silence the voice of democracy but failed. She reaffirmed that the PPP will continue to carry forward the mission of Benazir Bhutto and the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy.
