Pakistan has strongly rejected Afghanistan’s claims about cross-border attacks. The Foreign Office made clear that only Pakistan decides who can remain within its borders. Officials stressed that undocumented individuals will be sent back, while legal residents will continue under proper rules.
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan addressed journalists during a briefing. He said decisions about Afghan refugees are part of discussions between leaders of both countries. He also emphasized that Germany should honor its commitment to resettle Afghan citizens who qualify under international arrangements.
At the same time, Pakistan dismissed allegations of involvement in Afghanistan’s internal violence. The spokesperson urged Kabul to cooperate more closely against terrorism. He stressed that terrorism remains a common challenge, and both countries must act responsibly to address this threat.
Khan noted that safe havens for militants inside Afghanistan are a major concern for Pakistan. He explained that such sanctuaries create mistrust and hinder progress in bilateral relations. He also said that without effective action from Afghanistan, the fight against terrorism cannot succeed.
Finally, Pakistan called on the Taliban to ensure Afghan soil is never used for attacks against Pakistan. The spokesperson insisted that regional peace depends on responsibility from both sides. He added that Pakistan remains firm in defending its sovereignty and protecting its people.
