Interior minister, US ambassador discuss security and flood relief

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with the US Acting Ambassador, Natalie Baker, in Islamabad. They discussed many important topics, including bilateral cooperation and shared concerns. During the meeting, both sides emphasized improving relations between Pakistan and the United States. They agreed on working together on issues that benefit both countries. This meeting highlights the ongoing partnership between the two nations.

The discussion included the issue of Pakistani nationals wanted in the US. Both officials also focused on enhancing border security. They agreed to boost cooperation in drug control efforts. Additionally, they planned to strengthen ties between their coast guard and forensic departments. These steps aim to make both countries safer and more secure.

Ambassador Baker expressed sadness over the recent floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. She showed sympathy for the people affected by the disaster. The US is committed to supporting Pakistan during this difficult time. Meanwhile, Minister Naqvi welcomed the US President’s statement on joint oil reserve projects. He said this creates great chances for US investors to enter Pakistan’s market.

Naqvi promised the government would provide full support for foreign investors. He emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to attract investment in energy and other sectors. Ambassador Baker added that the US values its relationship with Pakistan highly. She said they are actively seeking new ways to increase cooperation. This meeting underlines the positive momentum in Pak-US relations.

Present at the meeting were Federal Secretary Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha and Additional Secretary Major General Noor Wali Khan. Their presence shows the importance of this dialogue. Both sides aim to strengthen ties and ensure safety. This meeting is a step toward a stronger partnership and better future cooperation between Pakistan and the US.
