First Lady and MNA Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari distributed house ownership documents to flood-affected women during a ceremony held at Latif Hall, Peoples University, Nawabshah on Friday. This initiative is part of the Sindh People’s Housing Project, launched to support those who lost homes during the 2022 floods.
Speaking at the event, Aseefa emphasized that this project is not only about building houses but also about restoring dignity and empowering women. She praised the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership, especially Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, for making this vision a reality through dedication and strong political will.
She further stated that no other province or political party has taken such a bold step toward women’s empowerment and housing security. By giving women legal ownership of property, the PPP has created a model for social uplift and lasting impact.

Aseefa also reminded the audience that this initiative fulfills the promise made by former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to provide land, shelter, and dignity to every citizen. She congratulated the women receiving property documents, expressing hope that this step would benefit generations to come.
Moreover, she highlighted that land ownership for women is a powerful tool for boosting their economic and social position. By giving women legal control over assets, the project paves the way for a more equal and secure future.
Thousands of homes are being built across flood-affected villages under the project. These houses aim to provide shelter to families left homeless during the devastating 2022 monsoon floods, which displaced communities and destroyed infrastructure across Sindh.
