Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday said Pakistan must change its outdated governance system. He explained that modern, digital reforms are necessary for real economic growth. He chaired a key meeting in Islamabad to review the performance of federal ministries. He said no country can move forward using systems that are 70 years old.
At the meeting, the energy ministry shared a detailed presentation. It showed how their reforms reduced losses and saved the national treasury billions of rupees. Shehbaz praised Minister Awais Leghari and his team for their hard work. He said their success should be a model for all ministries. He also highlighted the importance of getting help from world-class experts to fix problems.

To push reforms further, the prime minister ordered a new committee. This group will recommend steps to improve all ministries. Their job is to recruit smart, skilled people and introduce new systems. These changes should improve services, speed up decisions, and save money. The committee will also suggest how to use technology for better results.
Shehbaz also stressed that Pakistan has great potential. He said the country’s natural resources and young population are its biggest strength. Many Pakistani professionals have brought pride to the nation around the world. Now is the time to use their skills to build a better, faster government system.
Separately, on World Population Day, the PM shared his vision. He said every citizen must have access to healthcare and family planning. He promised that the government will protect people’s rights. Everyone should be free to make life choices with dignity and proper support.
