LAHORE – Great news for overseas Pakistanis! Lahore Traffic Police has introduced a major facility allowing citizens to obtain an international driving license within just a few minutes at the airport.
For the first time in Pakistan, an international driving license kiosk has been set up at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr. Athar Waheed officially inaugurated the new service, making travel more convenient for Pakistani citizens.
According to the CTO, travelers can now get their international driving license issued right before flying abroad. In addition, other licensing services will also be available at the kiosk to assist citizens with ease.
This newly launched service center will operate 24/7, providing round-the-clock access. Besides issuing international licenses, it will offer services like license renewal, issuance of duplicate licenses, and learner permits.
The initiative has been widely welcomed, especially by frequent travelers and overseas workers who often face delays or hassle when applying for a license through traditional methods.
With this step, Lahore Traffic Police has taken a bold move toward digital convenience and public service improvement, making life easier for Pakistanis traveling abroad for work, study, or tourism.
