Actor and filmmaker Tom Hanks has landed his way in his next intriguing pick: a project revolving around the sci-fi genre from Miguel Sapochnik, the stellar director behind everyone’s all-time favourite ‘Game of Thrones’ episodes, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. Tom Hanks, whose countless and diverse performances have spoken well of his valour with roles in ‘The Circle’, ‘Sully’ and ‘Inferno’ – will now be starring in ‘Bios’, directed by Miguel Sapochnik and scripted by Craig Luck and Ivor Powell. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the film will centre on the ambitions of a robot built to protect its ailing creator’s dog. With the Oscar winner portraying the role of the creator, the Artificial Intelligence actor goes through the transgression of learning about meanings such as love, friendship, as well as human life. Sapochnik has a growing list of television credits to his name including kick-starting several episodes of ‘True Detective’ and ‘Masters of Sex’, best known at present for directing Hardhorme, Battle of the Bastards and The Winds of Winter from ‘Game of Thrones’. The second of the three mentioned above earned him two of the biggest awards at the Emmys in 2016. Next in line for the actor is major money-maker Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Post’ – up and happening on the big screen, while ‘Saturday Night Live’-based Halloween special about David S Pumpkins will feature Hanks on the small screen.
