Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday formally inaugurated Lahore Prime CBD Quaid District. Wide roads, excellent underground electricity system, latest sewerage and drainage system, uninterrupted water supply, awe inspiring horticulture and landscaping has been done at Lahore Prime. Mohsin Naqvi visited the Central Business District (CBD) and inspected the main boulevard besides inspecting the whole route of the under construction boulevard from the Centre Point Gulberg up to Walton Road. He reviewed ongoing construction activities on the under construction boulevard project. He directed to completed the project within the given time frame. He also visited Lahore Prime near Kalma Chowk and issued directions to improve the traffic system. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Lahore Prime, he said that today such an era has been started which would change the skyline of Lahore, adding that Lahore Prime holds the status of a milestone with regard to infrastructure completion of CBD Punjab Quaid District. “We will make Lahore Prime an international business hub.” Mohsin Naqvi stated that CBD has fulfilled it’s another promise. CBD prime was for those people who have already bought their plots. These plots would be sold at a double price then the normal price of Gulberg though balloting. Mohsin Naqvi remarked that the credit goes to CBD for developing the area nicely which accrued more prices. CBD has more than adequate area of land available till now and it is our endeavour to allocate additional land to CBD. “We are trying to make an effort with the CBD to link the main road with the Walton Road and Defence Road” he said. A new bridge was going to be completed by January and would be linked with the main road, Defence and Walton Road, he said and added that CBD was taking up a project in Garden Town as well. “We are launching a CBD project to resolve traffic problems of Garden Town” he added. CBD has been allotted a land at Ferozepur Road on which CBD was undergoing work. “CBD should earmark a land in Rawalpindi so that we can commence CBD Rawalpindi Project” he noted. “These are such lands of the Punjab government which are getting wasted and we can acquire more than 100 times more revenue from these lands” he said. CBD has to accumulate 500 million dollars foreign exchange in coming 2 to 3 months. Approval to establish a Diplomatic Enclave in CBD Lahore has been granted and work was ongoing. Mohsin Naqvi maintained that the whole diplomatic community would be shifted here with the establishment of a Diplomatic Enclave. CBD Rawalpindi has to be commenced immediately and the government was also going to commence work on CBD Multan. CM Mohsin Naqvi commended CEO Imran Amin of CBD and his whole team on establishing state-of-the-art infrastructure. Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi attended a ceremony being held in connection with the International Day of Enabled Persons at a local hotel today. CM formally inaugurated the web portal “Enabled” by the Social Welfare Department. CM Mohsin Naqvi expressed his affection with the enabled children. CM called the female child on the stage who sent messages on the whatsapp to participate in the ceremony and expressed affection with the female child. The enabled female child gave an invitation card to CM Mohsin Naqvi to visit the institution. CM after accepting the invitation said that he would definitely visit the institution. Mohsin Naqvi apprised that this female child invited him by sending a message on the mobile by saying that he has to definitely participate in the ceremony. After seeing the message, I decided to attend the ceremony after cancelling all my engagements. It is matter of great pride for me to participate in the ceremony of enabled children and it is my duty as well. CM went to an enabled child for doing painting during the ceremony, witnessed painting of the child, commended him and gave him gift also. CM Mohsin Naqvi while addressing the ceremony said that the word “enabled” will be used for the disabled persons in future. Prompt measures will be undertaken in this regard and no one should call these children disabled but the word “enabled” will be used. A summary should be formulated to use the word “enabled persons” at the official level in this regard. Mohsin Naqvi while announcing to upgrade all the institutions of enabled children directed the Social Welfare Department to chalk out an upgradation plan of institutions in coming seven days and submit it in the Chief Secretary office. We will provide whatsoever resources are required and will get the centres of enabled children upgraded. Mohsin Naqvi revealed that in the past, the budget of special education institutions was allocated to the School Education Department, on account of which the budget used to be allocated with delay for the education, brought up of the children and studying in these institutions. We have directly transferred the budget to the Special Education Department. Skilled and technical courses will be arranged for the enabled children of more than 18 years in TEVTA so that they can start their business after learning a skill. Chief Secretary has done a great work for the Autistic children. We are establishing state-of-the-art centre for the enabled children by retrieving a land from the land grabbers in Township. Provincial Minister SHC&ME Dr. Javed Akram and DG Social Welfare also addressed the ceremony. Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary Social Welfare, Secretary Information, DG Social Welfare, prominent motivational Speaker Qasim Ali Shah and a large number of enabled children participated in the ceremony. Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the President of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, its Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al- Zaabi and its people on the national day of their country. In his message issued here on Saturday, Naqvi expressed his good wishes for the progress and prosperity of the UAE. “We equally participate in the felicity and rejoice of our brothers on the National Day of the UAE. It is the second home of Pakistani people and the hearts of both countries beat together,” he said. The CM maintained that Pakistan and United Arab Emirates cordial relations have further strengthened due to the recent visit, adding that agreements worth billions of dollars were inked during the recent visit. “The UAE has always extended its full support to Pakistan in every time of trial and need. We deeply appreciate the economic and diplomatic support extended by the UAE with regard to Pakistan. The UAE is an important country of the Muslim world and its rapid progress is an example for the world. I solemnly pray for further progress and stability of the United Arab Emirates,” he added.
