ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police along with the Pakistan Rangers and other security agencies on Thursday conducted a search operation in various areas of Koral area and arrested 22 suspects that include four Afghan nationals, a police source said. The authorities conducted the search operation in areas including Ghori town, Khana Dak, Ghori VIP phase and its adjacent areas. During the search operation headed by DSP Malik Naeem Iqbal, the suspects including Afghan nationals were detained following the screening of more than 110 houses. The police also recovered weapons and narcotics from the nabbed persons. Islamabad SSP Sajid Kiani said that the purpose of this search operation was to ensure high vigilance in the city and every effort would be made to ensure protection to the lives and property of citizens. The senior police official also appealed to the citizens to remain vigilant and inform the authorities concerned in case of any suspicious activity around them.
