ISLAMABAD: Rain-thunderstorm is expected to occur in scattered areas in upper Punjab, KP, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, and also at isolated places in Balochistan and Eastern Sindh in the next 24 hours. Light rain is also expected along the Sindh-Makran coast during this duration while a seasonal low has been reported to lie over north-eastern Balochistan and its adjoining areas, with its trough extending south-eastwards. Monsoon currents have also been found to have penetrated into the upper and central parts of the country. A westerly wave is at present impacting the upper parts of the country and is likely to persist during the next two days, according to an official of Met office. In the last 24 hours, rain-thunderstorm occurred at a number of places in Punjab, KP, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan and at isolated places in Balochistan and Sindh. Met Office has reported rainfall of 103mm at Gujranwala, 39mm at Gujrat, 37mm at Sialkot A/P, 25mm at Sialkot City, 37mm at Faisalabad, 33mm at Layyah, 33mm at Kot Addu, 26mm at Sargodha, 25mm at Mandibahauddin, 25mm at Shamsabad, Rawalpindi, 19mm at Chaklala,Rawalpindi, 20mm at Lahore City, 20mm at Lahore A/P, 18mm at Z.P, Islamabad, 25mm at Golra, Islamabad, 24mm at Bokra, Islamabad, 10mm at Saidpur, Islamabad, 15mm at Murree, 14mm at Multan, 14mm at Jhelum, 08mm at Mangla, 05mm at Chakwal, 32mm at Lower Dir, 18mm at Peshawar AP, 10mm at Peshawar City, 13 mm at Saidu Sharif, 10 mm at Malamjabba, 08 mm at Pattan, 08 mm at D.I Khan, 07mm at Dir, 17mm at Rawalakot, 10mm at Kotli, 29mm at Khuzdar, 13mm at Sibbi, 05mm at Gupis, 05mm at Hunza, 03mm at Jacobabad and 01 mm at Moenjodaro. Maximum temperatures recorded on Thursday included 45 °C in Dalbandin and Nokkundi, 44 °C in Dadu, 43 °C in Sibbi, Sukkur R.Y. Khan and Rohri, 40 °C in Quetta and Multan, 38 °C in Hyderabad, 35 °C in Chitral, Hunza, Faisalabad and Karachi, 34 °C in Gilgit, 31 °C in Lahore and Kalat, 29°C in Islamabad, Peshawar and Muzaffarabad, 27 °C in Skardu, 25 °C in Dir and 19 °C in Murree.
