ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday acquitted a death row convict after ten years. A three-member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa acquitted Aamir. A case was registered against Aamir, Zubair Muhammad, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Younis and Muhammad Muzaffar over a murder incident in 2006 in Jhelum. The trial court awarded the death sentence to Aamir acquitted the others. Later, Aamir filed appeal in Supreme Court against LHC order, objecting trial court’s verdict, the SC rhetorically asked how four accused were freed over unreliable testimonies and one was sentenced to death. The three-member bench annulled the high court’s verdict and acquitted Aamir.
