ISLAMABAD: Chinese leaders on Wednesday sent messages of support to Pakistan two days after terrorist bombing massacred over 70 civilians in Quetta.
“China is opposed to all forms of terrorism and strongly condemns the terrorist attack,” Chinese President Xi Jinping, said in a message to his Pakistani counterpart, Mamnoon Hussain.
“The Chinese side will continue to firmly support Pakistan’s efforts to fight against terrorism, safeguard national stability and protect the people’s lives and safety,” he said. The Chinese embassy released the message to the media.
“I was shocked to learn that the terrorist attack in Quetta of Balochistan Province has caused heavy casualties. China shares the deep sympathy with the Pakistani people on such sufferings,” the Chinese president said.
He said extend deep condolences to the deceased and sincere sympathy to the injured and bereaved families on behalf of the Chinese government and people as well as in his own name.
Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang in his message to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that his country firmly opposed to all forms of terrorism and will as always, support the unremitting efforts of Pakistan and its people to safeguard national security and fight against terrorism.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in his message to Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that terrorism is the common enemy of the human society and China is ready to strengthen cooperation with Pakistan to counter terrorism.
