The design is quite simple and therein lies its beauty. Many celebrities have sported this look pairing it with white sneakers, khussaas and even male style boots. Saba Qamar was the first to introduce this trend; she pulled of a glamorous black masculine shalwar kurta look which was then followed by many other female celebrities. Sadaf Kanwal was seen carrying of the same masculine cut in mustard color with a long strap bag. She paired up her look with a pair of emerald green khusaas and looked phenomenal.

But is this trend a newcomer in the fashion industry or a comeback from the 80s? A comeback of course! We’ve all watched drama serials like ‘Tanhaiyaa’ and ‘Ankahi’ in which famous brand Tee Jays dressed our beautiful actresses, back in the day in baggy and monotone shalwar kameez.

This trend had become quite a sensation in the 80s (as proven by the old pictures in our family albums) and is now going through a much-needed revival.

What are your thoughts on this style of Shalwar Kameez? Is this style a little too much? Would you try it? Who do you think looked best in this style of “Shalwar Kameez”?
