MADRID: Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has on Saturday said that despite the club’s stuttering season, he is as motivated as he always is.
Zidane, whose team is 19-points behind arch-rivals Barcelona in the league, said that Madrid’s administration and players support him and that the Blancos are hopeful of turning the season around.
“I feel the support of the club, the president, the squad, and we will keep going to turn things around. I talk all the time with the president,” said Zidane.
Speaking about his club’s Copa Del Rey quarter-final loss against second-tier Leganes, which also saw Madrid get knocked-out of the tournament, Zidane said that there are good and bad moments in football but the club can resolve the issues.
“I was very disappointed with the game the other day, I did not expect that. But that is part of football, we must accept it. In football, there are good and bad moments. I feel strong and able to resolve this,” said the French tactician.
When asked if he would like to make any changes to the team, the 45-year-old said that he will stick to the plans and is completely satisfied with the quality of his squad.
“I would not change anything now. This squad is what I have. I was happy with the squad before the season started. It is a younger squad, with future, which has to learn. But I am with them completely,” Zidane said.
