WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States could launch significantly stronger military strikes against Iran if the situation in the region takes an unexpected turn.

In a statement shared on social media, Trump said US military forces would remain positioned around Iran until a formal agreement is reached. He noted that American naval vessels, aircraft and troops are currently deployed in nearby areas to maintain pressure and readiness.

The president cautioned that any unforeseen development could trigger renewed military action. “If the situation becomes unpredictable for any reason, attacks will resume,” he said, adding that future strikes would be “bigger and more powerful than ever before.”

Trump also reiterated Washington’s long-standing position that Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons. He suggested that this condition had already been clearly established and remains a key objective of US policy in the region.

According to the statement, US forces are maintaining a high level of preparedness during the current pause in hostilities. Trump described the military as being fully equipped and ready, while also taking time to regroup following recent operations.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, where overlapping conflicts and fragile ceasefire efforts continue to shape the security landscape. Analysts warn that such statements could further increase uncertainty, particularly as diplomatic channels remain under strain.

While no immediate escalation has been reported, Trump’s comments underline the possibility of rapid developments in the coming days. Observers say the continued presence of US forces around Iran reflects both a deterrence strategy and a signal of readiness should negotiations fail.
