Addressing a press conference, he said Pakistan’s relations with key countries, including China, the United States, Iran and Afghanistan, were facing strain. He stressed the need for a well-defined stance on major global issues, particularly concerning India, Palestine and Israel, noting that policy ambiguity was weakening Pakistan’s international standing.
Commenting on the broader Muslim world, Fazlur Rehman criticised decades-long reliance on Western powers for security and economic support. He argued that such dependence had contributed to instability in countries like Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, while tensions involving Iran continued to rise.
He called for stronger political, economic and defence cooperation among Muslim nations, proposing the formation of a more cohesive bloc to safeguard shared interests in a shifting global order. He also questioned the role of major powers, particularly the United States, suggesting that changing geopolitical dynamics signal the emergence of a new international framework.
On domestic matters, the JUI-F leader highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Tank, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat and Bannu. He said insecurity had forced residents to migrate and criticised the government’s inability to maintain its writ.
