KARACHI — The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rain and thunderstorms in Karachi on Thursday, with similar weather conditions expected across several parts of Sindh over the coming days due to a strong westerly wave.

According to the department’s latest outlook, the weather system is currently affecting southern regions and is likely to expand across most parts of the country. Karachi is expected to experience partly cloudy weather on Wednesday, with temperatures ranging between 32°C and 34°C during the day and a minimum of around 24.5°C. There is also a possibility of light rain or drizzle in isolated areas.
Humidity levels in the city are projected to reach up to 84 percent in the morning before easing to around 45–55 percent by evening, with winds blowing from the west and southwest. On Thursday, conditions are expected to turn mostly cloudy, with chances of rain, wind, or thunderstorms at isolated locations. Temperatures are likely to remain between 31°C and 33°C.
The PMD further indicated that Karachi may see additional rain spells on Saturday and Sunday, with occasional breaks. Meanwhile, multiple districts across Sindh, including Sukkur, Hyderabad, Larkana, and Mirpurkhas, are expected to receive rain accompanied by thunderstorms and possible hailstorms during the same period.
Authorities have warned that strong winds, lightning, and hail could damage weak infrastructure such as electric poles, billboards, and solar panels. Farmers have also been advised to take precautionary measures to protect crops from potential damage.

The advisory comes days after severe thunderstorms in Karachi resulted in fatalities and injuries, underscoring the need for vigilance as the new weather system moves across the region.
