Saba Qamar’s strong backing highlights Punjab’s new direction

Published on: January 22, 2026 3:39 PM

Renowned actress Saba Qamar has openly praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her leadership, saying Punjab is showing visible improvements because of serious focus on governance and public welfare. Her comments came after a recent viral clip of the chief minister’s speech caught public attention and sparked widespread discussion.

Earlier this week, Maryam Nawaz held a detailed meeting with commissioners and deputy commissioners to review civic problems affecting people in cities and smaller towns. During the meeting, she ordered officials to install missing manhole covers and repair open road drains to prevent deadly accidents. Furthermore, she stressed that public safety must always come before bureaucratic delays and careless oversight by departments. These clear instructions reflected a push to make government bodies more responsible and more responsive to the public.

Following the circulation of the chief minister’s address on social media, Saba Qamar shared her thoughts and praised the leadership for taking action on real problems. She wrote that she had been noticing positive changes across Punjab for quite some time, which made her hopeful about the future. In addition, she said that the recent speech showed genuine concern for people rather than empty political statements. Therefore, she felt it was important to acknowledge good work when it is being done.

The actress also highlighted that development should never be ignored, no matter who leads the government, because its benefits reach every section of society. She added that better roads, safer streets, and cleaner public spaces create a healthier and more secure environment for families. Moreover, such improvements help businesses grow and allow communities to function more smoothly. In her view, supporting positive initiatives strengthens accountability and encourages leaders to keep performing better.

At the same time, Maryam Nawaz’s firm stance on civic safety has been welcomed by many residents who have long complained about neglected infrastructure. Open drains and uncovered manholes have caused injuries and deaths in the past, making this issue extremely serious. Therefore, her decision to address these hazards has been seen as a practical step toward reducing risks. With regular monitoring and strict orders, officials are now expected to take faster action on the ground.

Overall, Saba Qamar’s public endorsement has added a strong voice to the growing support for Punjab’s ongoing development efforts. Her message underlines that progress should be appreciated regardless of political differences, as it directly improves people’s daily lives. Meanwhile, the provincial government’s focus on safety and repair work signals a move toward more people-centered governance. If this momentum continues, Punjab could see steady improvements in both infrastructure and public trust.
