
QUETTA: The Balochistan government has extended Section 144 in Quetta district until January 31, citing concerns over the “prevailing law and order situation.”

The notification from the Home Department maintains a ban on all public gatherings of five or more people, public processions, and the display of weapons. Authorities have also prohibited the use of tinted vehicle windows, the operation of unregistered motorcycles, and face coverings in public, including masks or mufflers.

Pillion riding remains forbidden, with exceptions only for the transportation of women and children. Violators of the restrictions may face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
