2026 will see development blitz in Sindh, vows Memon

Published on: January 2, 2026 1:55 AM

Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has said that 2026 will prove to be a year of development, convenience, and stability for Sindh. He said the Sindh government has adopted a comprehensive strategy to ensure the timely completion of ongoing and new development projects across the province. In a statement, he said the government’s focus is on finding sustainable solutions to public issues, improving infrastructure, and reducing the development gap between urban and rural areas. In 2026, several projects related to roads, bridges, transport, health, education, water, and drainage will take shape under the Annual Development Programme (ADP).

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that improving infrastructure in major cities of Sindh, including Karachi, is a top priority. Road rehabilitation, construction of bridges and underpasses, new routes, and public transport projects are being completed at a rapid pace to reduce traffic pressure in the city. These projects will provide greater convenience and save time for citizens.

He said the Sindh government is developing the public transport system along modern lines. Double-decker buses, EV buses, and other new bus services, along with safe travel facilities for women and environmentally friendly transport, are part of these efforts.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that large-scale investments are also being made in the education and health sectors. The upgradation of schools and hospitals, establishment of new medical facilities, and enhancement of staff capacity are among the government’s priorities for 2026. He further said that several projects aimed at addressing water shortages and drainage issues will be completed or show significant progress in 2026. Improvements to canals, upgrading of drainage systems, and measures to address environmental challenges are part of the government’s long-term vision.

The Senior Minister said the Sindh government is ensuring transparency, speed, and quality in all development projects. He added that the government wants people to see practical results rather than promises, and that citizens of Sindh will feel a meaningful change in 2026. He reaffirmed that the government remains committed to public welfare and that this journey of development will continue with full momentum in the coming years.
