The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone carried out a major operation resulting in the arrest of a suspect involved in producing and distributing counterfeit Pakistani currency.
The suspect, identified as Waleed Hashmi, was apprehended from Bahria Town, Lahore, during a raid while actively engaged in the production of fake currency notes.
During the operation, FIA officials seized materials used in the manufacturing of counterfeit currency, including various chemicals, papers, and digital devices. The suspect has been taken into custody, and a formal investigation has been initiated to determine the full scope of the illegal operation.
The FIA spokesperson said that the crackdown on counterfeit currency is part of ongoing efforts to curb financial crimes and maintain the integrity of Pakistan’s monetary system.
