
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and snowfall in upper and western regions from December 20 to 22, as a new westerly weather system is expected to affect several areas.
Balochistan will feel the system first on December 19, with districts including Chagai, Kharan, and Kalat likely to witness rain and strong winds, while snowfall is expected over mountainous terrains.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper districts such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Mansehra are predicted to experience rain with moderate to heavy snowfall, accompanied by strong winds in surrounding areas.
Gilgit-Baltistan districts including Skardu, Diamer, and Astore are also expected to receive rain and snowfall, with heavy snow possible at isolated locations, while Azad Jammu and Kashmir will see precipitation in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, and Rawalakot.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi may experience rain with thunderstorms from December 20 to 21, while Galiyat and Murree are forecast to see rain and snowfall with strong winds, and central Punjab may witness drizzle under partly cloudy skies.
The PMD has warned of possible road closures in Naran, Kaghan, Swat, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir due to snowfall and cautioned about landslides and avalanches, urging tourists to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures.
