Sydney attack sparks global terror alarm

Published on: December 16, 2025 3:46 PM

The recent attack at Sydney Beach has pushed India’s alleged role in state-sponsored terrorism into global focus, raising serious security questions for governments and international institutions worldwide. Moreover, officials and analysts argue that the incident reflects a wider pattern where coordinated networks operate beyond borders, challenging existing counterterrorism frameworks and regional stability. As a result, the case has triggered renewed debate about accountability and the responsibility of states to prevent violence carried out through covert international channels.

Pakistan asserts that India has long followed a systematic approach to support terrorism globally, citing past allegations linked to activities in North America, Europe, and other regions.
Furthermore, Pakistani officials believe the Sydney attack strengthens claims that such networks are not isolated events but part of a broader, organized, cross-border strategy effort.
Consequently, Islamabad urges the international community to examine these patterns carefully and respond with unified measures aimed at preventing future attacks across regions and societies.

Meanwhile, reports claim the attackers, Sajid Akram and his son Naveed Akram, traveled internationally on Indian passports shortly before carrying out the Sydney Beach assault.
According to immigration records, both individuals visited the Philippines during November, with confirmed travel to southern regions known for militant training activity in recent years.
Additionally, security assessments suggest the father and son received military-style training abroad, reinforcing concerns that the attack involved careful planning and preparation over several months.

At the same time, international media reports have questioned possible links between the attackers and Indian intelligence elements, particularly the agency commonly known as RAW.
Australian security sources have reportedly examined these connections, noting travel histories, training indicators, and communication patterns that raise serious investigative concerns for authorities worldwide today. However, the absence of an official response from Indian authorities has further fueled suspicion and intensified calls for transparency at the international level regarding the incident.

Ultimately, the Sydney attack caused multiple casualties and heightened global anxiety about organized terrorism supported through state-linked networks operating across continents in modern times today. Therefore, Pakistani authorities emphasize that the incident highlights an urgent need for international accountability, cooperation, and stronger mechanisms to counter covert terror activities effectively worldwide. In conclusion, the case serves as a warning that ignoring such allegations risks emboldening networks that threaten civilian lives and global security in the future.
